Luxury camps cluster in private conservancies bordering the reserve, where guest and vehicle numbers are capped by agreement with the local Maasai landowners — a structural limit the crowded central reserve doesn't have.
Vehicle sharing
Smaller camps mean fewer guests per vehicle, often with the option to book a private vehicle outright. You spend less time waiting for other travellers and more time following your own interests.

Are luxury camps always in private conservancies?
Not always, but most are, because conservancies cap guest numbers and allow off-road driving and night drives that the central reserve doesn't permit. A handful of high-end camps do sit within or near the main reserve.
Do luxury camps guarantee a private vehicle?
