Three days is long enough to include an entire unhurried day in the reserve — dawn to dusk, both game drives, no drive to or from Nairobi cutting into it — without asking for a full week away. Day by day
Day 1
Nairobi to the Maasai Mara
Depart Nairobi around 6:00–6:30am, driving roughly five to six hours to the Mara with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Arrive at camp for lunch, then head straight out on an afternoon game drive from around 4:00pm until sunset. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 2
Full Day in the Reserve
This is the core of the trip: an early-morning game drive at first light, followed by a picnic lunch in the bush or a return to camp to rest through the midday heat, then a second game drive through late afternoon. This is when most sightings happen, as animals are most active at dawn and dusk.
Day 3
Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
One last early-morning drive, then breakfast back at camp and check-out by mid-morning for the drive back to Nairobi, arriving by early evening.
